Data.gov is a US government website that offers raw data packages produced by US government agencies. Publicly available datasets from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) may be downloaded from this website. Available datasets include the Master Classification File and an Index to the US Patent Classification system, as well as bibliographic data for patent documents.
Users can access raw datasets by selecting the option "Raw Data" on the main horizontal menu at the top of each page. Users can browse through the datasets by re-ranking the list by relevance, "most accessed," alphabetical, newest, oldest, highest rated, or most comments. A menu on the left side of the dataset list also allows users to keyword search through the list or filter the dataset list by:
- Data types, icons shown for each type (datasets, external datasets, files and documents, filtered views, charts, maps, calenders, forms)
- Tool type, icons shown for each type (raw data, data extraction tool, RSS feeds, widgets and gadgets)
- Government agency
- Federated Domains
This search form and a list of all available datasets are also available on the site homepage.
