Introduction

Drug Patents International (DPIN/DPINNS) is an English-language pharmaceutical database produced by IMSWORLD Publications Ltd. and available through Questel platform Qweb.[1] The DPIN file is available to Drug Patent International subscribers only, and the DPINNS file is available to non-subscribers. The database contains:[2]

  • Patent publication and priority information
  • Application dates
  • CAS Registry numbers
  • SPC’s
  • Extensions
  • Drug descriptions (accessible by general drug and trade names)

The database covers records from 1987 to present, and it is updated on a bimonthly basis.[1] SDI alerts are also updated on a bimonthly basis.[1] The database is in the "Patents" cluster of Questel databases.[1]
