INCOM's PATWWW service provides a document delivery service, and can also retrieve basic information such as legal status and citation information for given document numbers. The service is divided into three parts: PatDocs, PatLegal, and PatCitation.
- PatDocs is a PDF patent document delivery service, with coverage available here.
- PatLegal is a legal status search service that queries the INPADOC bibliographic and legal status files produced by the European Patent Office (EPO). The cost of this service is 6,00 € per patent number queried; however, is is worth noting that this data is also free online via the Espacenet service.
- PatCitation is a citation search service can provide a report of all forward and backward citations related to a patent document. The INCOM service queries national patent office databases, as well as the EPO and WIPO databases, to provide this information. The cost of this service is 9,00 € per patent number queried, and 45,00 € for a report that extends into second-generation forward and backward citations; however, is is worth noting that citation data is also free online via several services, most notably Espacenet.
