Import Functions
Importing records into Delphion is done in two ways: users may cut-and-paste a list of document numbers into a browser window, or they may import a list of document numbers by uploading an ASCII text file (This means text files from applications like Notepad only: no Word, Excel, PDF or other file formats are allowed). Document numbers can only be imported into a new “work file” or results folder; there is no way to run an initial search based on a list of input numbers. For more information about work files, see Saving Results.
Once the new work file interface is opened, the user may paste the numbers into the data entry window for import; alternatively, the user may choose the “Browse” function to locate a text file containing the patent numbers in a local directory. Records in the work files can then be manipulated in a number of ways. In addition, users may request data export and PDF bulk download functions from the work file.
It’s worth noting that data from an outside file can be uploaded into a work file at any time during the life of the work file (even if there are already documents in it). This is a flexibility that may be important for users attempting to build a result set over time, or in collaboration with others.
