Dialog was acquired in 2008 by ProQuest LLC. It was formerly owned by Thomson Reuters. ProQuest is an electronic publisher based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. ProQuest describes themselves as "a leader in the collection, organization, and publishing of information". ProQuest divides their information services into several categories:
- Higher Education/Academic
- 2 Year College
- Government
- Corporate/Special
- Public
- K-12
- Hospital/Medical
- Outside US/Canada
Many have speculated that ProQuest seeks to update Dialog and "bring the system into the 21st century". The direction taken by ProQuest with the Dialog system will be interesting to see in the years ahead. [1]
