Viewing Full Text
Only certain databases on Dialog contain full text information. Most contain only bibliographic data. However, for those that do contain full text data, a user can display the full text right in the Retrieve Buffer by using the TYPE command. The screenshot below shows what this looks like.
Alternatively, in the "Picklist" portion of the DialogLink software, the user may output the full text to HTML, XML, or Text format, rather than printing the text to the Retrieve Buffer.
For bibliographic databases, Dialog will provide the user with a way to purchase the full text document. Full text patent documents may be ordered through DialogLink using the Order Documents icon on the DialogLink menu bar. This links the user to Dialog SourceOne document delivery service and may be used online or offline. A web page will open and the user will be asked to log on to SourceOne. The user is then presented with a box for entering document numbers. Multiple document numbers may be entered and PDF full text files can then be downloaded directly or sent to the user's email account.
See Downloads for details on all of the document delivery options available on Dialog.
