Training
For basic search training and training on the functionality of the website, users can refer to the online help guide and the interactive assistant, discussed in the Online Help Features section.
For additional training topics and live training, users should consult the European Patent Office (EPO) website. The EPO offers a number of training modules on the web, and maintains a Patent Information Training division as a service to the public. This division occasionally hosts live seminars in a virtual classroom. Upcoming training schedules and other information is available on the EPO website, at http://www.epo.org/patents/learning/pi-training.html.
The EPO website also hosts a number of recorded web seminars on topics related to the European patenting process. In addition, the EPO maintains discussion forums related to the use of their data. In addition to hosting a forum for esp@cenet users, the EPO also hosts forums for users such as commercial services or in-house database producers that have obtained a license to download bulk data directly from the Open Patent Services (OPS) server. An index to these forums can be found at http://forum.espacenet.com/.
