Import Functions
Esp@cenet does not offer any patent number or search strategy importing functions (beyond allowing a search on up to four document numbers at one time). The service does, however, offer data export, described in the next section of this article, Export Functions.
Editor's Note:It was once speculated that these limitations were maintained as another way to avoid competition with commercial providers of patent data. However, esp@cenet recently announced a planned enhancement for 2008.[1] It is unknown whether this enhancement would support more than four document numbers to be imported at once.
