Saving Results
Even though it does not require users to establish any kind of account, records of interest may be saved in esp@cenet. This is accomplished through the "My patents" list, which will store up to 100 patent document records (XP (non-patent) records cannot be saved to the list). This list can be accessed at any time, as long as cookies are enabled on the user’s web browser, and the user has the same computer and IP address each time the system is accessed. Records are saved for up to 1 year from the time that the list was last accessed.
Once records are saved into the list, they can be accessed and viewed just like they were part of any esp@cenet hit list. Records are deleted from the list by selecting their checkboxes, and then choosing the “Remove Selected” link from the upper right corner (shown in the figure below).
Editor's Note:The list does have some limitations. As stated, the list will only accommodate 100 patent records, which may be insufficient for some searchers. This number was recently increased (from 20 to 100) by an October 2008 update.
As an additional limitation, the list is not able to store XP document records at the time of this writing.
However, on the positive side, the 1 year storage time allowed by this feature should be more than adequate for most users.
