Flagging Results
Flagging documents of interest is possible at any time from the hit list or the individual record view. To accomplish this, users merely have select the star associated with that document. In the hit list, this star appears to the far left under the patent title and the check box, while in the individual record view, the star appears at the top left of the page.
Once flagged, the document is immediately placed into the "My patents" list, which stores up to 100 documents for up to 1 year (this number was increased from 20 documents by a 2008 enhancement). When documents are placed into the "My patents" list, they always appear in any search results with a red-shaded star, to indicate that they are currently saved. Espacenet does offer bulk downloading options from the My Patents list, where users can download up to 30 patent documents into a single PDF file.
XP documents (non-patent documents) can now be tagged or saved.
More about the "My patents" list is discussed in the next section of this article, Saving Results.
