Viewing Legal Status
Legal status records for any document in Espacenet can be viewed from the INPADOC Legal Status section in the document navigation menu.

In the figure above, PRS stands for Patent Register Service. This is the abbreviation for the legal status division of the INPADOC files produced by the EPO (INPADOC products also include PFS, or Patent Family Services, among others). INPADOC legal status information is entered into the file via a series of pre-defined codes, and systems generally display the definition codes so that the user can more easily grasp their meaning.
