Export Functions
Bibliographic information and patent document information are both available for export within FreePatentsOnline.
From the individual record viewing page, users can export bibliographic data in a format recognized by BibText or EndNote.
From either portfolio managing page, users can export a Microsoft Excel file of data. For more information on this, see the Saving Results section.
Editor's Note:The ability to export patent information to an Excel file is a nice tool for those wishing to prepare an easy to read basic report, with a common file extension.. The lack of customization options makes these reports unsuitable to present to a customer in a professional prior art search report, but the feature is excellent for a free patent search system nonetheless. Bibliographic data exporting can help the users of two popular bibliographic data management software systems, BibText and EndNote, to keep track of their citations.
