Preferences

Compared to other more complex search tools, IP.com has a very thin set of user preferences. In fact there is no dedicated “Preferences” screen at all. There are, however, user-definable display options available on the search form screen.

The display options are located at the bottom of the search form.

Within the Display Options section, users have the option to have results displayed with either an abbreviated abstract or a Keyword in Context view (KWIC) containing the first keyword match within the document. Highlighting of matched search terms may also be toggled on and off with a checkbox located here.
