IP Analysis

"IP Analysis" is the search form within DECOPA that uses latent semantic analysis to perform what it terms "Prior Art/Novelty," "Invalidity", "Freedom to Operate," and "Infringing Uses" analysis among other styles of searches. These functions attempt to mirror various common intellectual property searches by analyzing different combinations of areas of patent documents (claims, first claim, specification) and dates.

The IP Analysis search form allows searching based on latent semantic analysis of a patent document found via a publication number or a section of text.

Users can choose to do latent semantic searching based on a relevant patent document number, or by entering a section of text and specifying IPC fields. Searching can further be restricted or limited by priority date and Boolean searching.
