Geographic Coverage and Languages

The coverage of Inspec is International for the journals, books, videos, conferences, dissertations, and reports categories. The patent coverage is limited to the US and the UK where available. Non-English language files make up about than 12% of the available files, and in these cases,[1] the producers of Inspec provide English titles and abstracts, as well as additional English-language indexing, such as controlled vocabulary terms. This additional information makes the non-English language records more likely to be retrieved by an English language searcher, which is a big benefit.

Engineering Village sample record from foreign language document with rewritten English abstract.
