Keyword or Controlled Vocabulary: Yes. Uses Inspec Thesaurus as source of controlled vocabulary.
Classification: Yes. At least one of more than 5500 Inspec Classifications is given to each file. Additionally, Treatment Codes are given to tag each file with information about the general category of the file. For example, R is given in the Treatment Code field for Product Review.
Classification revision schedule: Updated annually.
Editorial policy: Information taken from print, web and electronic sources within the scope of the outlined subject areas. Newly added publications are not retroactively archived into Inspec.
Standardized Assignee or Inventor names: No.
Rewritten titles or abstract: Yes. Titles and abstracts where not provided for by the original author, or provided in another language other than English, are written by Inspec.
Chemical structure indexing: Yes. From January 1987 onwards.
Other indexing: Yes. Astronomical indexing from January 1995 onwards and numerical terms indexing from January 1987 onwards. Beginning in 2010, IPC codes are being added to records retroactively back to 1969.
