The Hit List
The appearance of the hit list varies slightly depending on whether the user is searching or browsing. When completing a search, the results are shown accompanied only by their titles, and are sorted either by relevancy, subject area, or title name. Each result has a + button in front of the title. Holding the cursor over the + button will open up a popup containing the bibliographic information and a description of the title. Clicking on the + button will open the bibliographic information and description below the title. If a title contains associated Productivity Tools, an icon for the available tool(s) appears next to the title, and selecting the icon will open the tool application. Selecting the title name will take the user to the actual Knovel record for that title.
When browsing by a particular subject, Knovel shows the subheadings for each subject, followed by all titles under the subheading. The functionality available for hit list records, described above, also applies to titles displayed using the browse function.
