Introduction

MARPAT does not contain any non-patent coverage, as Markush structures are derived specifically from patent claims. This is in direct contrast to the CAplus file, which contains significant non-patent content (journal articles, ahead-of-print journal articles,[1] dissertations, meeting abstracts, other web resources).[2]
