Viewing Document Images
Images of generic structures indexed by CAS are always viewable in MARPAT when the proper display formats are used (HIT, QHIT, QHITEXG, FHIT, FQHIT, FQHITEXG, D SCAN, D SAM, ALL).[1] Very large chemical structure drawings are now also available for display through the STN platform. According to an STN announcement::[2]
Previously, very large chemical structure images were not available for display. Instead of "STRUCTURE DIAGRAM TOO LARGE FOR DISPLAY - AVAILABLE VIA OFFLINE PRINT", these images will now display online and appear in transcripts.
This enhancement is available to customers using STN on the Web and STN Express, Version 8.5.
A representative patent drawing is also included with the MARPAT records. If a user wishes to view the complete set of original patent drawings, or patent facsimile images, those are not available through regular MARPAT searching, and must be viewed by ordering the patent copy. For further information on viewing document images on STN, see the STN article.
