System Data
System Name: Merged Markush Service (MMS)
Company Name: Questel-Orbit
Length of Service: The MMS system that exists today was created by the merge of the WPIM and MPHARM files in 1998, although chemical indexing efforts in these two files began in 1987. (A backfile project has since been initiated, to extend coverage of the authorities in the Pharm file back to 1978.)
Target User: Professional searchers with in-depth knowledge of chemistry and at least some training on the system’s UNIX commands.
Subscription type: The system can only be accessed via a subscription (usually a yearly subscription). However, in addition to the yearly fee (which is minimal), search costs are assessed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Associated Data Analysis Tool: ChemAxon
Similar Systems: MARPAT on STN, DWPI Chemical Fragmentation Codes
