Jouve, originally a printing house established in 1903, now is a company of over 1,000 employees working in the intellectual property business.[1] As a major partner of the EPO, OHIM, WIPO, INPI, SIPO and others, Jouve has had extensive experience with patent offices that gives it weight in the industry. In partnership with the EPO, Jouve developed the EPOQUE Net application.[2] Jouve has also worked with WIPO, the EPO, and INPI to catalog and manage patent data.[3]
Empolis is an enterprise content and knowledge management solutions company. An arvato AG subsidiary and part of Bertelsmann AG, empolis is based in Germany and employs 250 people.[4]
PatAnalyst is a joint venture between Jouve and empolis that brings the data management and search tool development experience together to create an end user product. As Jouve’s flagship patent search system, PatAnalyst can be expected to be supported and developed. Although few if any features have been added to PatAnalyst since 2006, users can expect any future growth and effort by Jouve to placed in this product. Both companies have proven track records and a strong foothold in the patent industry.
