QPAT’s German full text files are produced electronically by the German Patent Office. Although offered by some other providers, QPAT apparently does not host a search platform for its DE-T translation file, which is a collection of EP documents that have been translated into German (filing a translation is a requirement for the EP patent to be considered valid in Germany). These records should include a representative image where available, although the completeness of this coverage is unknown.
Full text German published applications are covered in the DEFULLA file; coverage begins in 1987. German granted patents are covered in DEFULLB, also from 1987.
German granted utility models (full text) are covered in the DEFULLU file, from January 2004. (German utility models do not have a pre-grant publication).
These full text files do not contain updated classification data. They only contain the classification data published for the record at time of issue. Since both IPC and ECLA classifications are commonly revised and updated, searching by classification in these files will not be using the most recent, updated data.
The records in these files are entirely in the German language. The characters are indexed without accents/elided vowels, but these flourishes do appear in the display text.
