Ordering Patent Prosecution Histories
In version 6.8, QPAT began offering a direct link to Questel's patent prosecution history ordering service, DigiPat, from its FamPat family display. In the figure below, the icon to the far right will open a new link to the DigiPat service.
Selecting this icon will open a new browser window for the DigiPat service, which requires a user ID and password to continue with the ordering process.
Editor's Note:Although providing a direct link to the DigiPat service makes using QPAT more convenient for DigiPat customers, one wonders why the developers did not insist on placing a "sign-up" option on the DigiPat login page, to allow new customers to use the service. It is possible that some additional information about how to become a DigiPat customer will be added to the site: until then, non-customers will be stuck at the DigiPat login page.
