The European Patent Office Collection

SumoBrain has sporadic full text data coverage for European Patent Office (EP) granted patents and patent applications dating back to first published EP records in December 20, 1978. Older documents appear to be covered more inconsistently than recent documents, for which full text is available in nearly every case. Bibliographic information is present for all EP granted patents and patent applications, as well as PDF images of all records.

editors note iconEditor's Note:

The sporadic nature of the full text data from the first few hundred thousand EP documents may make the user unsure of the accuracy of full text searching over this set of records. Additionally, users should be aware that many EP granted patents originate as PCT applications due to the Euro-PCT Transfer Issue. The EPO does not republish the PCT applications as EP applications, causing some EP granted patents to have no corresponding EP application.
