Introduction
Surf IP is a federated search system that searches each patenting authority's official website, and displays the results of the search in the Surf IP interface. For a summary of the patent coverage, please see the Summary page.
The following is a list of all the patenting authorities available to search, including a link to the search engine for each official website:
- United States (US) - United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- European Patent Office (EP) - European Patent Office (EPO)
- Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT/WO)- World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO)
- Japan (JP) - Japan Patent Office (JPO)
- Canada (CA) - Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)
- China (CN) - State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO)
- United Kingdom (GB) - United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UK-IPO)
- Republic of Korea (KR) - Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO)
- Singapore (SG) - Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS)
- Thailand (TH) - Thailand Intellectual Property Information Center (TIPIC; or DIP for the Department of Intellectual Property)
- Taiwan (TW) - Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), also called the Republic of China or Chinese Taipei
