Viewing Patent Citations
In TotalPatent, patent citation information is displayed within the Bibliographic Data section of the Full Text view. Backwards patent citations are listed, followed by forward patent citations (those documents that cite the subject document), and finally "Non-Patent References." All cited document numbers and titles, when available, are hyperlinked to their respective records in TotalPatent within a table containing publication number, publication date, title, applicant/assignee, and cited by information (when applicable, for backwards citations). Selecting the hyper-linked publication number or title will automatically launch a search for the relavent document number. Selecting the hyper-linked applicant/assignee will automatically conduct a search for that assignee name. Finally, the non-patent literature citations link to a corresponding record for the document on Scopus (when available). The "Non-Patent References Cited" section will also sometimes prompt users to "See also references of...," with a link to the document records on Scopus (when available).
